Presentation:
Beans - The Poor Man's Jewels / Tina Kacanowski
Tue Sep 16 6:30pm
Don Dodge Auditorium / 200 Grand River Ave, Port Huron, MI
This presentation is all about beans - the history and varieties of beans, some of the people who are responsible for many of the varieties of Phaseolus vulgaris that exist today, and one woman’s discovery that she didn’t know beans.
Tina has a BS in Chemistry (Oakland University, 1998). She is a former 4-H member and has been a member of Seed Savers Exchange for over 10 years. She grew up on her grandfather’s farm in Lenox Township and comes from a long line of Macomb County farmers.
The Master Gardeners of St. Clair County is a volunteer organization that exists to promote gardening and the beauty of nature. Our members teach others about gardening, work in the community flower and vegetable gardens, donate money to worthy projects, and are consultants for gardening questions and problems. If we don't know it, we know where to look it up!
